Rather than testing rote knowledge, the focus is on scientific reasoning, data interpretation, and conceptual application in unfamiliar contexts. You’ll encounter graphs, tables, diagrams, and layered passages requiring multi-step analytical thinking.
In today’s prep market, GAMSAT students are often misled.
Many practice exams (including some official ACER materials) are outdated, poorly aligned with the modern GAMSAT structure, or fail to reflect the exam’s reasoning style and difficulty. Students repeatedly report that even newer papers feel disconnected from the real test-day experience.
Worse, many prep companies resell recycled MCAT questions, falsely branded as “GAMSAT-style.” The difference is enormous:
MCAT: ~50% background knowledge
GAMSAT: 100% reasoning with unfamiliar, abstract content
This mismatch makes their exams misleading, irrelevant, and overpriced.
Our exams are written by high-performing medical students who have sat the most recent ACER GAMSATs and understand what the test truly measures.
